Ancestors is a national public television series featuring the stories of people whose family history research led them to both their heritage and a greater understanding of themselves. Shot on locations around the world, from the green hills of Ireland to the crowded streets of Hong Kong, Ancestors also takes viewers inside some of the world’s most famous genealogical repositories, including the National Archives, Library of Congress, Family History Library, and British Public Records Office in London.

Many instructional products were also part of the Ancestors production including a guidebook, an instructional video, online "how-to" courses, a teacher’s guide, a companion book, and an expanded web site that served as a gateway to online genealogy.
